Bitci, a blockchain company based in Turkey, has taken steps to deny that the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has cancelled its partnership non fungible token (NFT).

According to a report published earlier this week by the Brazilian sports industry organization Máquina do Esporte, CBF terminated the agreement due to a series of payments delays from Bitci spanning several months.

Since it was claimed in early November that the sponsors used in Brazil's team ad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup did not have.

However, Bitci has now taken steps to definitively deny that the deal had fallen through. According to the Turkish company's statement, "The contracts between the Brazilian team and Bitci are current and valid. Bitci has received no notice of termination."

CBF designated Bitci as the official cryptocurrency of the Brazil national soccer team in June 2021, and the agreement would extend to the youth women's and national teams as well. The Brazilian National Team Fan Token (BFT), a series of NFTs based on the Seleço and its players, was launched by the blockchain firm in September 2021.

Bitci's statement also clarified that these NFTs would remain valid regardless of whether the sponsorship agreement was terminated or not.

"Even if the sponsorship deal is terminated, the fact that BFT is the only and legitimate fan token of the Brazilian national team remains," the company added.

To put it another way, the supply, listing, trading, and circulation of BFT are all legitimate and legal. The continuation or termination of a sponsorship contract affects no crypto asset on the secondary trading market.'

Bitci also announced a "criminal and civil lawsuit" against Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of rival fan token company Socios. Dreyfus shared the first article on Twitter, claiming that the deal is off, and has previously criticized other fan token platforms without explicitly naming Bitci.

"Alex Dreyfus is not in a fair and honest competition," Bitci stated, "but he hopes to harm Bitci and its investors with unfair attacks."

Bitci's accusations, according to a Socios spokesperson, are "unfounded."
