Twitter will allow users to display NFT marketplace listings from specific platforms, as well as a button to buy and sell collectibles.
Twitter announced today that, in collaboration with four marketplaces, users will be able to buy, sell, and view NFTs directly through tweets.
The NFT Tweet Tiles integration shows an image of an NFT in a custom panel within a tweet and includes a button that allows users to scroll through a list of markets.
The integration is currently in testing with four partner marketplaces: Solana-based marketplace Magic Eden, cross-platform marketplace protocol NFT Rarible, blockchain creator Flow Dapper Labs, and sports-focused platform Jump.trade.
These markets are spread across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Solana, Flow, Polygon, Tezos, and Immutable X.
According to a Twitter representative, the Decrypt feature is blockchain independent, which means that all networks are supported as long as the links are from a common marketplace.
Elon Musk deserves credit for making this possible.
The representative added that "The feature is currently being tested with certain Twitter users on iOS and the web," and that if they are in the test group, they will see the NFT Tweet Tile integration. To use the feature, no premium subscription to Twitter Blue is required.
Twitter previously supported NFTs as verified profile pictures through the Twitter Blue subscription service in January, but only Ethereum NFTs are currently supported.
