Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR), a GT racing team supported by Lamborghini's motorsport division, is teaming up with non-tradable token (NFT) platform Go2NFT to launch a program that validates race car parts using NFTs.
According to former racing champion Vincenzo Sospiri of VSR, their team will develop NFT certification for racing cars using Go2NFT and the blockchain platform Skey Network. They will be able to assess and guarantee the quality of automobile parts.
"This also comes with a significant responsibility to ensure that we securely verify and inspect every part of our racing fleet in order to monitor performance and source," Vicenzo Sospiri said.
VSR intends to expand its NFT certification program beyond auto parts to include official products and other products.
According to Boris Ejsymont, executive at Go2NFT, their team is aware of the challenges companies face in protecting their intellectual property and believes NFTs can help. He mentioned:
"We believe the NFT utility can help brands and their fans build greater trust and transparency." This collaboration with VSR is just the beginning of many more for well-known brands around the world."
The worlds of motorsport and cryptocurrency collided in 2022. Bybit, a cryptocurrency trading platform, announced a $150 million partnership with the Formula One Red Bull Racing team in February. In an interview with Cointelegraph, Bybit founder Ben Zhou stated that the collaboration helped his company connect with people who were unfamiliar with the cryptocurrency industry.
Crypto.com has also partnered with Aston Martin's Formula One team. As part of the agreement, ads for the company's F1 cars will appear on the exchange. According to Aston Martin CEO Jefferson Slack, the move has helped the automaker better understand the crypto space.
