Following the release of the second DAP GAP hoodie collection, Dapper Dan announced his first NFT collaboration with the Gap brand.

Dan stated in a statement that NFTs are "a big part of what's shaping the culture right now" and that he is "excited" to expand the presence of the DAP GAP hoodie.

"As some have dubbed me the 'godfather of hip-hop fashion,' it was incredible when an iconic American brand like Gap and I collaborated to create something that would take our culture even further," he said.
"NFTs are a big part of how culture is changing right now."

The NFT partnership between Gap and Dapper Dan begins on April 2 with the launch of a 48-hour DAP GAP digital auction. According to a press release, digital art designed by Dapper And and a special edition (signed) physical varsity jacket are up for auction. The auction is timed to coincide with New York's first annual Fifteen Percent Pledge benefit, with proceeds benefiting the nonprofit via the Philanthropic Ventures Foundation.

The NFT association will then use a three-tier approach (Common, Rare, and Epic) for deliveries beginning April 5 and running through April 12. Visit the official website for more information.

Dapper Dan spoke to Complex earlier this month about his work with Gap, and the designer compared the brand to pizza in that it has the potential to be enjoyed by "everyone."
