The first NFT whiskey collection on the BlockBar platform has been launched by Johnnie Walker, a well-known Scotch whiskey brand. These virtual emerald bottles, called "Masters of Flavor," are linked to an exclusive 48-year-old Johnnie Walker Masters whiskey kept in a Singapore vault.
Johnnie Walker has announced a three-day trip to Scotland for "Masters of Flavor" collectors to commemorate the release of his first NFT. NFT holders can visit Johnnie Walker's Glenkinchie Distillery to sample the brand's best whiskeys. Members of the "Master of Flavor" program will receive a complimentary room in Edinburgh's opulent Gleneagles Townhouse.
Johnnie Walker collaborated with Marvel artist Bosslogic on this first NFT release. Customers who purchase the "Masters of Flavor" NFT will receive one of seven different artistic NFTs from Bosslogic.
Although "Masters of Flavor" is Johnie Walker's first official NFT release, the brand has expressed an interest in engaging with experts via web3 technology. For example, Johnnie Walker recently agreed to send anyone with a Gift Goat NFT an autographed bottle of Scotch whisky.
The Johnnie Walker whiskey label isn't the only one dabbling in digital collectibles. Many alcohol companies want to use NFTs to provide collectors with verifiable ownership, VIP experiences, and priceless digital art.
