January 24, 2023

According to a report by DappRadar, NFT sales reached an all-time high of $101 million in 2022. The report, which analyzed data from the top NFT marketplaces, revealed that the NFT market has seen a significant increase in both sales volume and the number of active users. The report also highlighted the growing popularity of NFTs in the gaming industry, with games such as Axie Infinity and Sorare driving a significant portion of the NFT sales.

NFT minting, the process of creating and selling NFTs, is also becoming increasingly popular as it allows creators and artists to monetize their digital content and reach a wider audience. The report noted that the rise in NFT sales can be attributed to the increasing number of mainstream artists and celebrities entering the NFT space, with the likes of Kings of Leon, Paris Hilton, and Mark Cuban all releasing their own NFTs through the process of NFT minting.

The report also highlighted the growing trend of NFT collectibles, with a significant portion of NFT sales coming from digital collectible cards, sports collectibles and other unique digital assets created by NFT minting. The NFT market has seen a steady increase in popularity over the past few years and the report suggests that the market is likely to continue growing in the coming years.

With the increasing number of platforms and marketplaces that have been created to support the growth of the NFT market, such as Rarible, SuperRare, and OpenSea, which enable creators and artists to mint and sell their own NFTs through NFT minting, and more mainstream artists and celebrities entering the space, it's expected that the NFT market will continue to evolve and expand.

"The NFT market is maturing and we're starting to see real-world use cases for NFTs beyond just digital art," said Skirmantas Januskas, CEO of DappRadar. "The growing popularity of NFTs in the gaming industry, in particular, is a sign of things to come and we expect to see more mainstream adoption of NFTs in the future."
