Coca-Cola, one of the world's largest beverage companies, has announced the Pride series NFT collection to honor the LGBTQIA+ community. NFT to be launched by Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) Pride Series
The collection was created in collaboration with award-winning designer and LGBTQIA+ rights advocate Rich Mnisi, according to Coca-Cola.
Mnisi's "artworks are inspired by an enduring idea: energy cannot be destroyed," according to Coca-Cola. It can only be moved, reshaped, locked, or unlocked." According to Coca-Cola, the purpose of Pride NFTs is to shine a colorful light on community members and spread a message of love. Each NFT in the collection, according to Coca-Cola, will be one-of-a-kind.
Polygon will see the launch of Pride NFTs.
Coca-Cola has revealed that 136 of its Pride NFTs are built on the Polygon network, with some already listed on OpenSea. The Pride Series NFT collection debuted at a base price of 1 Ethereum (ETH).
According to the soft drink giant, all proceeds from the initial sale will be donated to charities that serve the 'OUT' community, South Africa's second oldest LGBTQIA+ community.
Despite increasing adoption by large corporations, global NFT sales totaled just over $1 billion in June, a 12-month low for monthly sales.
