Bentley's first step into the NFT market will be a one-time NFT drop on the carbon-neutral Polygon network in September 2022, limited to only 208 pieces. The number 208 is significant to Bentley because it represents both the top speed of its fastest Grand Tourer (the Continental GT Speed) and the total production run of the iconic R-Type Continental of 1952, which inspired the modern Bentley design DNA.

The beginning Bentley NFT will be a one-of-a-kind artwork created by Bentley Design, providing holders with exclusive access and rewards. The NFT is the first step in a long-term strategy to increase Bentley's ownership in the Web3 ecosystem.

Platform for Carbon Neutrality

The Bentley NFT collection will be minted on Polygon, an Ethereum scaling platform that has connected millions of people to Web3. Polygon recently achieved carbon neutrality and has committed to becoming carbon negative by the end of 2022. As a result, all Bentley NFTs will be zero-carbon. With a goal of achieving end-to-end carbon neutrality by 2030, the same year that all Bentley vehicles will be fully battery electric, it was critical that Bentley's first foray into Web3 be environmentally responsible.

First step into Web3 World

Bentley's NFT launch will be a critical first step into the Web3 space. Bentley will investigate additional digital platforms, such as NFCs (non-fungible chips), online gaming, Metaverse applications, and the use of blockchain technology throughout the organization.

Vision for Philanthropy

Proceeds from this and future activations will go toward the brand's charitable efforts. Bentley will increase its support for students interested in engineering, design, and manufacturing, all of which require new talent on an annual basis. Bentley also intends to assist organizations working to improve sustainability, particularly in the transportation sector.
